TSW: get naked!

Sometimes I think I take things too seriously. But then again I'm thinking about what makes good RP good and bad RP bad.

Great parts of it are a matter of taste, I know. This is my blog, so I will talk about my taste.
I think characters who post half-naked pictures of themselves are ridiculous, when they are a representative of a big company or of a secret faction at the same time. It's inappropriate.
Absolutely inappropriate.

PLEASE don't ask "Why?", for this should not be difficult to understand.

Women who want to be taken seriously should act professional. Posting pictures butt naked or in (sometimes overly) sexy lingerie does not make your character professional - unless she is an underwear model, a porn-star, or a hooker (or simply a bitch that doesn't care).

When it comes to the templars, of course, it is absolutely possible to go into the Temple Club or the HQ dressed in hot pants and a lace bra.
At least it is ooc-wise.
But when you go there for RP we all know that we should let our characters act authentic, right? Authenticity does not only come from emotes and the behaviour or talks you're describing. It's also the way you dress.
Tradition, responsibility, honor, style and class cannot be translated into butts, tits, nipples, thighs and thongs.
TSW gives you a ton of options for dressing your character.

Please think twice. What is my characters profession? Who or what should she represent?
Maybe she's just a normal person? Barista? Barkeeper? Then nobody should care about sexy pics on the web, I think. It's up to her (could also involve problems, but you know what I mean).
CEOs or other important persons in represantative roles should know not only how to act but also how to dress.

Check your twitter feed. When there are nothing but "sexy-pics", one will think about your character that he or she might have nothing else to say than: "I desperately need your attention!".

And I know the struggle when it comes to posting pictures of you face claim. Mine is Mila Kunis, check her pictures on google. You will notice that she is either laughing or sexy. It's not easy to use her for displaying a serious authority figure. I think I managed it quite well by simply using ingame-screenshots when it comes to things that should have some "professional" touch.

Please don't get me wrong. I am also one of those who puts on a mini skirt and a tube bra for "tanking gear" in dungeons. Not always, but sometimes. But since Amelia is an Temple Hall Inquisitor I am trying to dress her in a way that will not be embarassing for her superiors. If she should start acting inappropriate, there will surely be consequences coming from them.

Yesterday Amelia rushed into a conversation on twitter just do say something unfriendly. I hope this posting explains how this could happen. It was nothing personal. My view of authentic roleplay naturally affects my character's behaviour.

So please don't pout when Amelia get's into your character's face. I still like you, but Amelia is an old-fashioned square with a heart in shape of the templar's cross.
